STATEMENT OF INTENT:
For my posters, I will make sure they conform to the rules
of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). For example, every detail in the
posters will have an honest and truthful meaning to the story I’m trying to
tell. There won’t be any content that will upset anyone or spread negativity in
the public, to prevent anti-social behaviour for young people. This is due to
the public being able to see the posters on billboards, maybe on buses as well,
meaning children can view these images, along side the main target audience. The
documentary will be aired after 9 PM, as it may contain violent content,
considering it is based around young roadmen in Yarmouth, and won’t be suitable
for young children to watch.
As the TV
documentary focuses on the roadmen of Yarmouth, some negative aspects can come
out from it. To prevent this from happening, I’ve decided to create a sense of
positivity in some of the posters to shine a light on those who aren’t all bad,
or at least, to spread positive information about these young men. The way I
intend to do this is through the sun and moon. The sun will represent peacefulness,
enjoyment and safety, whereas the moon will represent the darkness and danger
of these people, and what mindset they are in to think like they do. However, the
danger will be shown in a more friendly way to still apply the safe viewing of
the poster for young children.
The TV documentary will target audience members from age 16–25-year-olds
by only using teenagers in the posters, to represent those roadmen. This
appeals to the audience as it shows how life can be different, depending on
their environment. Younger people of the age bracket would be more likely to be
interested in this documentary as it follows their age group and, as there are
crimes, the trend it follows is more popular with the younger generation
anyways.
